At Google, we believe that increasing diversity within the technology industry leads to greater innovation. Within India, we have many incredible women in technology, but they arent always visible.Thats why Google India has partnered with the Women Techmakers team to produce a public speaking workshop.

Participants will go through a 2-day speaker training with Speechless from San Francisco. This includes preparing a talk on a topic of their choice, getting 1:1 feedback, and will culminate a month later with participants being recorded in the Google Developer Studio at Google Bangalore (dont worry, its not live). Once theyve completed the training participants will know how to address an audience, craft a story and presentation, and present on-camera. Additionally, with assistance from Google mentors, all participants will develop their personal YouTube channel and social media presence, and well equip everyone with on-going support, training, and materials.

Who Should Apply?
Women over the age of 21
Women with 2+ years of work experience in the technology industry. Designers, developers, and entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply
Youre able to commit to 2.5 days on-site (2 days of training, half day of rehearsal and video shooting)
You have a story that you would tell to a group of friends over dinner This one time I built a feature and it went horribly wrong…and I learned We encourage motivational, inspirational, and technical stories and talks

The first installment of this public speaking workshop will have 10 spots available, and we will close the form on October 3 at 10 pm IST. Selection will be based on the requirements listed above.

When is this happening?
The training and video shooting will be conducted from mid-November to mid-December 2014. The selected participants should be able to spare the minimum hours required during these 4 weeks.

flipkart.com may keep on taking funding from the best VC’s but it can never match Amazon India in terms of customer experience.
